[Mom is scary. Bro is just a weirdo.]

You say that as if I don't know that, daddy. Trust me, my own dad made sure to drill that into my head.

[Dadbert didn't raise no fools! Mostly.]

But the funny thing about asking for permission is that it's kind of impossible to do when the person who you need to ask isn't around. Add in the fact that I didn't even know if you knew Rose was your daughter and can you really say you're surprised? If anything, I would have asked her mom if I had been able to, not you. But unfortunately I couldn't do that either.

And on top of that: it was an accident. Not saying that I didn't mean it or wasn't sincere about it, because I was. But if it hadn't been for certain circumstances beyond my control, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. Because I would have waited to pop the question until we were both old enough to actually do something about it. Believe what you will but I'm not completely stupid, I know thirteen is too young to get married. Why do you think it's an extended engagement?

[He is cranky and he does not want to be having this conversation. Especially not in a dress AND at the same time that he has to have a conversation with Kanaya about a related issue. Christ, guys the kid just woke up.]
