Uh... I think it was somewhere in the ballpark of six hundred? I don't remember the exact number off hand, but it was something preposterous like that. But that is just known species, who knows what else is out there.

When I first got here, they were just shy of 500 known species, if I remember correctly. But about a year ago, they discovered a bunch of new ones, so who knows what else they will find in the years to come.
