Oh, because Eevees can only evolve into Umbreons or Espeons when they are really happy. When they reach a certain level of happiness at night, they evolve into Umbreons. And if they reach that level during the day, they become Espeon instead. So, obviously I had to be doing something right because he finally evolved. I was honestly about to give up on him.
