prank #37 | video
[When John clicks on the feed today, he's accompanied by not one, but two Lopunnies. The One of them (Casey, judging by the pink sweater) is half-cradling the other and stroking its head, occasionally making shhh'ing noises. A Shinx lays next to them, and in John's lap rests the head of the saddest looking shiny Gallade you'll ever see. John himself looks exhausted, though moreso in the emotional sense than the sense of needing to take a nap.]
[He stares at the screen blankly for a good minute before finally speaking, in a voice that sounds as dull and tired as he looks.]
Vriska Serket has gone back home. If any of her Pokemon found their way to you, please let me know. I want to make sure they're all accounted for. And if they did just...promise me that you will take good care of them.
[He falls silent again, looking as though there's more he wants to say. In the end, he can't figure out what to say and ends up tightening his grip on the (what appears to be) a piece of twine clenched in his right hand.]
That's all.
[Click.]

[No, really, it's cool. John may have jumped a little and Lucky may have jumped a lot so that he could not be caught in the middle of that, but John doesn't mind the intrusion. For once though, he doesn't immediately hug back. In fact, it takes him a good minute or so to even react at all, which he does by lifting his left arm to kind of give Jake an awkward, one-armed back hug.]
[Yeah, this is a pretty shitty hug on his part. Come on now, John. You can do better than this.]
Jake kind of rolls his eyes in mock exasperation.]
John, that's not a hug. It's not even qualified to be a half hug.
[He hesitates a moment.]
From what I understand, you've lost a lot in a pretty short amount of time. And I know that we don't really know each other well, but I don't mind being someone to lean against. It's what family and friends are for, right?
[Unsure of what to say to either of those things, John says nothing. Instead, he opts to just kind of...let his head fall forward against Jakes shoulder.]
[Bop.]
Yeah. Thanks, Jake.
[Words are hard though. So are feelings. Being a teenager is hard, why didn't anybody tell him how hard it would be to be a teenager? Can he just skip to being an adult? He thinks he'd be pretty okay with that.]
[Action] wow I just realized we didn't change it from video to action
Jake doesn't mind in the slightest. He also decides that maybe talking about something that isn't strictly Vriska might help a bit
especially since everyone will probably ask him about that whoops. So he pulls away from the hug and sits right the fuck down where he is.]Hey, how about you tell me about your two year long adventure here?
[Action] we're so pro.
[He pulls away, sitting back down himself and laughing a little bit.]
Pfft, the whole two years? Are you sure? Honestly it's not really all that interesting of a story. Well...okay, I guess parts of it are.
[Action] the pro-est of role players
You've been meandering about the world of Pokemon for two whole years, and you say nothing interesting happened? Forgive me for not believing that in the slightest!

[Yeah no, there's plenty of that. And Rose will totally tell him if he asks.]
Well let's see then...I arrived here on January 16th, the same day as Aradia. Or well...the first iteration of her, anyway, obviously not the one who just got here a little while ago. [Just the first of many times that Jake will undoubtedly hear this come up.]
Anyway! The two of us traveled to Cherrygrove together to meet up with half of our friends because the two of us were a little late to the party. Nearly everyone was already here, either in Cherrygrove or Violet. We were there for...a little over a week I think. [He pauses, trying to think back.] Yeah, because Rose showed up the following weekend so we had to wait for her so she didn't get stuck traveling to Violet all by herself. But yeah, so at some point, Eridan tried to leave and head to Violet on his own but just managed to get himself lost instead. So Gamzee and I had to go on a rescue mission. We got attacked by HootHoots. For the record, those things can be damn vicious when they want to be. We managed to drag his half-frozen ass back to Cherrygrove without anybody catching hypothermia or being pecked to death though. For the record though, not the same Eridan who is here now. Not the same Gamzee, for that matter. [A beat.] He's another one of the trolls, if you haven't met him.
[Action]
Never met a chap by that name, but I'll take your work for it. Sounds like it was pretty hectic when you first arrived!
[Action]
[Even if he was a clown.]
He's not like that anymore. I guess the best way to put it is that when he comes down from his high, he comes down hard. It happened once the first time he was here, we will get to that part in a minute, but he's permanently off the troll drugs now. More importantly, he refuses to go back on them. Karkat is his moirail and he keeps him in line but...still. You can never be too careful.
[Action]
[So glad Roxy doesn't get worse when she's sober.]
[Action]
Good. Okay so eventually we make it to Violet. And proceed to get stuck there for months on end which I already told you about and there's really not much else to say about that time. Boring, lots of people coming and going and it generally sucked. Every time we tried to leave, somebody would disappear and then reappear a few days later and we'd have to sit around and play catchup again and wait. Moving on, come April, we FINALLY manage to free ourselves from that hellhole. But wouldn't you know our luck, Team Rocket decides that that would be the perfect time to test some crazy radio wave stuff. It messed with the minds of Bug Pokemon, causing them to attack whoever and whatever they came across. Worst part was the exploding Pinecos. That was some Grade-A bullshit right there and not fun to travel in. Luckily, our group was so large that we didn't really have a problem fighting off the hoards. Sweet XP was gained by all and it was good.
[Hey, he's kind of getting into this whole storytelling thing. This is good.]
[Action]
[what even]
[Action]
[He demonstrates this with his hand. He even provides airplane and explosion sound effects for added effect! Nobody can say that John Egbert is anything other than the best story teller in the world. NOBODY!!!]
