[When the feed clicks on, it's to a close up shot of a Shedinja floating inside what appears to be a hotel room. The ghost is just staring blankly at the screen, neither moving nor giving any other sort of indication that it's alive or that it really had any reason for apparently deciding to turn the gear on.]

[Just. Staring.]

[It's probably kind of unnerving and the worst part is that this goes on for a good twenty minutes before something else finally happens.]

Ugh, Phoebe did you hide my gear somewhere again? It was cute and kind of funny like the first maybe...three times? But that's really starting to wear off, sorry to say. Jeez, where is everyone it's like a gravey--

[John's voice can be heard in the background, and just as he wonders to himself where all his Pokémon went, his feet can be seen in the background behind the Shedinja. He sighs.]

Well that explains where everyone went at least. [The neon green argyle sock-clad feet approach the bug ghost and the camera.] Exos, what are you doing over here...oh. Ugh, not you too! Jesus what does a guy have to do, I swear... [The camera jostles as John, still mumbling to himself, picks the 'gear up. He redirects the camera to his own face, looking a little exasperated.]

Sorry about that. Exos is...well okay I have no idea what the fuck he was trying to accomplish there, if anything at all. But since this is already on, may as well make some kind of point here I guess. Umm, let's see...

Tell me about your favorite type of Pokémon. Or your favorite species, anything like that. Feel free to gush about your team and the things you have accomplished together, I don't mind. It's actually kind of fun to hear what other people have to say about their companions.

Here, I will even go first. Ghost types are my favorite and thanks to Bro Strider, I recently finished my collection of grim, grinning ghosts. I now have at least one of every ghost-type evolutionary line. My favorite species is Haunter. Mostly for nostalgia reasons but Haunters have the added benefit of just being pretty awesome in general.

Uhh...

[He seems to think on it for a second, then opens his mouth to reply, only to reconsider and close it again. And a second time...no wait, never mind he still doens't have an answer. False alarm.]

Uh, right yeah er...what were we talking about? [He falls silent for a moment, going backwards through their conversation in his head.]

Ah, right! Emolga is what I meant, my bad. Like...have you ever done that thing where you can clearly see something in your head but then you end up saying something else entirely that's sort of vaguely related? That's basically what happened. Too many electric rodents here, jeez. Pikachu wasn't enough, apparently.

It doesn't all necessarily have to be about strategy though. I have some that I don't really use in battle a lot but I keep them because they are just nice to have around or some other reason. But...in the beginning, yeah I focused a lot more on building fighters. I think most trainers do.

I wouldn't recommend it, no. Victoria has quite the fierce temper.

I just hope we don't have something like an electric capybara, I don't know if I'd be able to handle that.

I'm not used to the idea of having so many--err--animals around, especially not as pets, but the challenge of the gyms is a nice motivation to get to know different Pokemon. Once I have beating Falkner out of the way, I think I'll be able to do more leisurely traveling and catching.

Our ship mostly travels through Earth Sphere territory, docking at friendly colonies as needed. The furthest we went was the Mars Sphere, and we didn't stay there very long.

[Mostly because of the whole 'pirate on a rescue mission' thing.]

...I don't think they expect me to be myself. It's more like they expect me not to have changed at all over time, that's the annoying part.

Uhh...eheh I'm guessing that's pretty chilly and really hot, respectively? We don't really use Fahrenheit instead of Celsius where I am from. And I don't travel much either so the weather was pretty much the same for me always. It rained or snowed more days out of the year than it didn't and while it could get pretty hot especially on a muggy day, it rarely got as hot as it does here. [~~I knew it.~~]

He's...basically a big softie. Her Mamoswine, I mean. Loves kids and giving people rides and stuff. But at the same time he can be sort of...clingy, almost. Like, when he decides he wants attention, boy you are going to give it to him and that's the end of that.

Poisonings? I knew a few people had been sick around that time, but I'd not realized it was deliberate... Why would any Pokémon help steal and enslave others, knowing how much they'd be hurt if they were separated from their own trainers?

You have a point. Though I think the question about this place that I want to answer more than anything is: "is there a way to stay here?"

Not that the over abundance of blue shinies isn't worth investigation too.

Yeeaaaaahhhh, if you have space colonies already, your Earth is way ahead of mine. What are they like? Do humans live on the moon and such?

That's...an entirely different matter then. I can see how that would be annoying and also unfair. But...I dunno maybe I should just stop guessing and trying to understand since I don't actually know your friends. But I like to think that people cherish their friends and even if they can be insensitive dumbasses sometimes, there is actually some good to everything they think and do when it comes to one another.

He confession-bragged about it later on. Like I said, he's really proud of his evil accomplishments. And I...am not entirely sure if the Pokémon did it of their own free will. Apparently he has ways of brainwashing them, I don't know if he's using a psychic type or what but it's messed up.

[He's certainly no longer mad about the whole Shedinja thing. In fact he already sort of forgot that he was even irritated about that in the first place.]

So bugs...have you been to any of the forests or the National Park yet?

They don't, but that's because the only thing there is a military base. Most colonies are just floating around the Earth.

...I know. I just wish they understood more quickly that I don't regret how I've changed.

What type of weather system do you use? I can convert them back, if you wish. [ She doesn't mind talking about the weather l-lol. ] Your place sounds relatively consistent, like the mountains in the north. The moist air creates many patterns of rain and snow, while warmth, when it does occur, is tremendously humid and uncomfortable. [ CLASSIC ... FICTIONAL WEATHER. ]

I think that's graceful in its own way. His warm heart does not allow his cool type to conquer his emotions. His gentleness is something that's definitely elegant. [ What about the part where he's super jealous...? ]

Mine does that, but only because um... it's programmed that way. [ Yeah. She's a part of Team Rocket. It creates frustration with her Woobat and she wishes that she could just remove the chip regularly but she can't. ] If I don't train or do exactly as ordered, it just seems to nibble on my bun. [ Sigh. ]

Others have previously mentioned seeing Pokémon that appeared mind-controlled. Whatever is responsible for such a terrible power should be destroyed at any cost.

Definitely more coincidence. Like, Lucario is a Pokemon said to have an innate sense of justice. Absol sense natural disasters and go to warn people about them, even after people start to blame them for the disasters they are trying to save them from. Bravairy is called the Valiant Pokémon.

It's rather vague, but I've noticed that over half of the Pokemon I have fall under those two categories rather comfortably.
