[John seems somehow distracted when he turns on the video today. He's sitting at the kitchen table in his house, chin propped in his hand and eyes on a Pokéball he's rolling idly on the table in front of him.]

You ever wonder what it is that determines what happens to a Pokémon after its trainer goes back home? I mean, I've thought about it before but never really thought about it if that makes any sense? This is really the first time I've inherited one that wasn't from a friend so it just got me thinking.

Granted, it originally belonged to someone who was... [He pauses, seeming almost hesitant to finish that sentence. Or perhaps unsure of how he wants to end it.] ...a friend. At...one point in time... [He trails off, brow furrowing as he stops rolling the ball around.] So maybe it has less to do with Eridan and more to do with her.

[He leans his chair back on two legs, picking the ball up and passing it back and forth between his hands, finally looking at the camera.]

So yeah. Anybody have any good conspiracy theories on the matter? I'm curious.

Well, this--um--Bill, he could link people from similar worlds, too. Although I'm not sure how he might be able to do that...this technology is a little advanced for me, I'm still wondering how it's able to transfer items through computers like it does.

What I want to know is how they can have the capability to transfer objects digitally but still have such shitty technology otherwise. Like, go look at their computers or gaming systems. Don't even get me started on all the tech in the Pokémon center. It just doesn't add up but that's hardly a new thing here. So I guess I really shouldn't question it.

...I'm not much of a gamer. It all looks pretty amazing to me.

Hehehe. Well in the time I am from, it's kind of behind the times. Though there are people here who would probably look at the technology in my world and find it quaintly archaic.

And it's still fun in the old school sort of way though. Just...weird that stuff doesn't really match up. They just seem more technologically advanced when it comes to Pokémon-related things as opposed to everyday living sort of things.

Maybe that's all that matters to them. This world seems more natural than most environments, and very concerned with the bond between people and Pokemon, so focusing on that is a higher priority to them than video games.

Well yeah, but still! It's just the principle of the matter. But Pokémon are more fun than video games anyway so I guess I can't really complain.

They pull less of an attitude with you than Weapons, so there's that.

Well some of them do, anyway. You'd be surprised at how good some of them are at that, even if they can't actually talk. My Umbreon has been giving me attitude since the night he hatch, pretty much. At least that finally stopped after last month though...
