So did anybody know that it's possible for Pokémon to be deaf?

[While John looks more or less fine, when he speaks there's a definite sort of half-squeaky grogginess to his voice that suggests he's only just recently gotten it back. Someone was pretty damn sick over New Year's (on his deathbed, one would think, the way he carried on) and has only just recently gotten over it. But at least his nose finally stopped running and he's done coughing. His lost voice just has yet to find its way back to him entirely.]

[He's sitting on the floor of his living room, leaning back against the couch. He's not looking at the camera, though. Instead, he's smiling somewhat fondly at a cheerful-looking Gothita playing with a squiddle doll a few feet away from him. She's chewing on one of the tentacles, giggling a little with her back to John.]

I feel like it really shouldn't be so surprising. I just never really stopped to think about it being a Thing That Could Happen, you know? [He turns his attention to the camera, finally.]

Anyway, so how was everyone's New Year? I missed ringing it in, myself.

[Time to play catch-up since he's been out of the loop for like a week now and fuck checking all the network backlog.]

It's John Egbert's fault, news at 11! [He leans in and presses a quick kiss to Rose's lips. Kissing ninja!!]

So, are you ready for vacation this weekend?

[It's gonna be great, Rose. So good.]

[With a laugh she leans over to steal one in return.]

I am so ready. I have been looking forward to it, even if every day sort of already feels like a vacation. It's going to be wonderful though.

[She leans in, waggling her eyebrows.]

I've heard the cabins on the boat are soundproof.

[Ah yes. John agrees. Every day is a good day in Pokéworld. While he wouldn't call it a vacation, it has that same sort of good-feel quality as a vacation. He remembers why he loves you, Rose. You're so won-- terrible.]

[You're terrible and that's really all that needs to be said on the matter.]

Oh good! I guess that means nobody will be able to hear us every night when I do...this!!

[When he attacks you with tickles, apparently. That's what he's going to do. Every night.]

[I hope you're ready, Rose.]

I wouldn't want them to get the wrong idea and think I am killing you, after all!!

[Rose squeals, curling up almost instantly to try and escape his fingers. She's not ready. She will never be ready for tickling.]

J-John--!!! [Nope. Laughing too hard to get a word out edgewise.]

[Unfortunately, he's not letting up. Rose, you should have known better than to tease him now that he's feeling better. Did you think he was just going to smack you with a pillow again like he did the other night??]

[No, but she wasn't expecting the tickling. But enjoy this while it lasts, John. Rose has an ace up her sleeve.]

S-st-stop--!! [As she continues laughing, she smacks the ground a few times, trying to roll away from him. Not that she's succeeding.

But while John is busy with this, Guile has nuzzled Stella, getting up with a couple of affectionate licks. And then she turns around and pounces John.

Are you prepared to get tickled yourself? Because Guile has been practicing. Her tail and paws tease at his sides, trying to at least get him off Rose.]

[Stella has no idea what's going on. She's just gone back to playing with her squiddle, oblivious to the scene taking place behind her because she's facing entirely the wrong direction.]

[John shrieks loudly as Guile's plan succeeds. Rose is free and now it is John's turn to be rolling on the floor unable to breathe or speak.]

[Except he has it worse, because once Rose is free and able to breathe, she starts tickling him too.

You weren't expecting her not to retaliate, were you John?]

[No, because for once John thought he was going to win. You just couldn't let him have this, could you, Rose?]

[This is terrible.]

[John tries vainly to roll away, but it's no use. He's pretty sure he's about to die because of this. But eventually, he manages to save up enough air to get out a single word...]

E-El...Elliot-thahahaha!!!

[Gurl...you in trouble now.]

[She's laughing too, because sorry. No you can't win. But oh shit, he's calling pokedaddy. Abort! Abort!

Guile and Rose both stop, getting up - still laughing mind you - and making for the door. Not going to stick around for Elliot to get there smell you later John.

[MASTER'S IN TROUBLE?]

[Yeah guess who you just ran smack into while trying to escape the living room, Lady Rose?]

[The towering ghost looks down at the girl and the Espeon in such a way that he might be saying "And where do you think you're going?" or he could honestly just be baffled as to why John called him. It's hard to tell, unless you're John. Somehow John has gotten pretty good at reading that rather impassive face.]

[Speaking of John, he's managed to roll over onto his stomach, still wheezing as a result of the tickling onslaught.]

G-Get'm, Elliot! [He struggles to his feet.] Hold'm down, I'm coming!
