[Judging by the dim light, it's well into sunset by now and John's laying on a lounge chair on what can only be the deck of the S.S. Anne. On his chest lays a small Dunsparce, wearing a tiny and absolutely adorable light blue party hat. John's idly petting its back, eliciting a few content sighs from the little snake every now and again.]

I know we have a starter appreciation day, but there's nothing quite like the anniversary of your arrival to get you thinking about the Pokémon that started it all. Like really think about them, I mean. Not just kind of acknowledging that they were your first Pokémon.

Or maybe I am just sentimental, who knows. But I really think there's something kind of special about starters. Even if there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why you were paired up together. Either way, Colonel Sassacre here and I have been together three years as of today. [The Dunsparce flitters his wings a little, maybe giving the camera the smallest of smiles.] Though it feels like it's been way longer than that, honestly. Time flies when you're having fun, right?

[He beams at the camera.]

So tell me about your starters. What was yours? What sort of things have you done together? I dunno, just brag about them if you want. Or we can just talk about whatever, you know I am honestly not too picky. There's just only so long I can appreciate complete silence, personally. But this chair is way too comfy and the breeze feels way too nice to go back inside.

[He's feeling chatty again, apparently. And also lazy. Though what else is new on either of those fronts, really?]

On that note, if you haven't done the elite battle with Blue or Claire to get your S.S. Anne pass, I highly recommend doing so. Just saying. Totally worth it.

[She waited for him to finish his video before approaching, balancing a plate carefully in hand. On said plate are two glasses of what could be champagne but is more likely to be juice of some sort, as well as a few treats for Sassacre and Guile - who is of course following at her heels.]

Happy anniversary you two. [A cup for you, Johh, and Rose is place a few of those treats onto his chest. Guile purrs, giving them each an affectionate nuzzle.]

[Did you really just put Pokémon treats on his chest, Rose. Really. Really.]

Thank you. [John takes the glass from Rose, holding it up to her and inclining it slightly. Sassacre, meanwhile, is just going to help himself to those treats. Here's to another eventful year.

[She did. What of it? As she sits down in a chair beside him, she clinks her glass against his gently.]

Indeed. And here's to spending it with you.

[It's just slightly funny and absurd, okay.]

Right back at you. [He winks and clinks his glass against hers.] Though you realize we're just going to be saying the same thing in like a week, right? or the third time this month?

Yeah, but it doesn't hurt to say it a couple of times. I, personally, enjoy reminding you of how much I love you and look forward to spending the rest of my life with you.

[She takes a sip, sighing contently and closing her eyes, relaxing back against her chair.]

It's good that you remind me. I like being reminded of the fact that you have accepted your fate of being stuck with me for the rest of forever as you know it.

I hardly see it that way, but who am I to keep you from believing your dreams may still come true?

I know you don't, I was just teasing. [He takes a long drink before setting the mostly empty glass down on the floor next to his chair.]

So, are you enjoying this as much as I am yet or should we agree here and now never to go on an all-expenses paid cruise again?

I know you were. [She smiles, glancing in his direction at the question.]

If I'm speaking honestly, I would love to do this again. Maybe for your birthday. Or maybe for our anniversary?

Definitely not my birthday. Knowing my luck, we'd probably have a case of the Titanic on our hands if we tried that. Plus, it might be kind of hard to drag the entire gang along, you know? I think Dave is the only other one with a cruise pass.

[He pets Sassacre idly.]

But anniversary we could do. I wouldn't complain at all if that's how you wanted to celebrate it this year.

[Hopefully this time there will be less glitching on his part.]

Ah, true. About bringing everyone along, though I'm sure you and I could afford to pay for the others. I will not even dignify your first reason with a response.

[There's a tiny bit of a shrug from her.]

Honestly, it wouldn't matter to me how we celebrate it. As long as we're together, that's all that matters. But this isn't a bad idea.

True but, my other point still stands even if you're not acknowledging it.

[There will be no birthday cruises. None. He refuses.]

Hehe. Well then I guess we'll play it by ear and see what happens, hm?

[Apparently she's not even replying to it this time.]

That will have to do for now, I suppose. So what would you like to do after this, hm?

[Rude, Rose.]

Hmmmmmm... Well I would like to sit up here a little while longer and watch the sunset but after that-- [John doesn't get a chance to answer what HE things they should do next because his stomach decides to speak for him. By gurgling quietly. Dinner. Dinner should definitely be what you do next.]

[John laughs sheepishly.] Well I wouldn't object to dinner?

We can sit here for as long as you'd like, my love. [She heard that tummy gurgling and it has her chuckling.]

Dinner also sounds wonderful to me. I'm starting to get a little hungry as well and I am sure these guys would like some food too.

[There's a very happy chirp from Guile at that.]

I'm pretty sure Sassacre wouldn't object to that. Would you, bud? [He looks down at the little snake, who flitters his wings and waves his tail.] Yeah, that's what I thought.

The two of you won't waste away in about twenty minutes or so, will you? Or should we leave now.

[This is, of course, half-directed as Rose as well as the Dunsparce.]

I think I'll be fine but I cannot speak for Sassacre. [She chuckles, reaching over to pat the Dunsparce's head.]
