[And so they did. Or well...Lestat did. John just tried his hardest not to fall back asleep.]

[At some point all of Lestat's hard work paid off, because when the feed clicks on it's to a very excited John sitting in the middle of the grass hugging an extremely wriggly and irritable-looking Umbreon.]

[Seems Lestat decided that that was enough gushing out of the boy for one night and that the perfect way to get him to shut up was to sink his teeth into the boy's left shoulder. Hard.]

I know, right? My friends back home would be so jealous that I get to be here! And... Demons! All of Tokyo was locked down!

Oh, you're so lucky! My girls are back home... But some of my friends from the lockdown are here! Um... A whole bunch of different ones! Some helped us, though!

Well..yes. I do. A whole lot. And we kind of went on a date the other day but I don't know if that actually means anything. It was fun but I don't know if we are like...a thing, now? [Relationships sure are confusing!]

That's good! That you are making friends, I mean. Not that you don't know whether or not you won back home. At least you don't really have to worry about it here? People say time freezes when you come here...so nothing too bad can happen while you're gone. Plus you are probably safer here than you were back home from the sound of things.

[Midori giggles and beams.] Oh, I'm so happy for you! If you went on a date, it definitely means something, especially if she's one of your best friends! People don't really take chances like that with their best friends unless they really, really like them!

[Midori laughs.] I'm traveling with some really nice girls right now, and my friend Hiro is only a little ways ahead! And I'm just... a little worried about home, I guess... It's nice to be safe, but one of my friends was in trouble because of me when we left, and I worry...

Yeah, I hope that's what it means. I would just...like to know for sure, you know?

Oh, yeah I can understand that. One of my friends was in trouble when I left home too but she was already here when I got here...somehow. And had been for almost a month. So...maybe your friend will show up soon!

[Midori nods.] I totally understand! This kind of stuff can be really hard to figure out, so it's good to have things as clear as possible! You should talk to her about it, I'm sure she'll have only good things to say!

Oh, wow, that's really weird! My friends have been here for a while too... But not Keisuke! I guess I just have to cross my fingers, huh?

Yeah, it was kind of weird but I am used to strange time shenanigans. I just try not to think about them or question how they work. It's easier that way. Plus, less headaches.

[Midori laughs.] So it's better just not to think about it?

I'll try my best. [Though he...probably won't say anything till she brings it up. Too shy. Too nervous.]

Definitely better not to think about it if you can. As long as everything works out okay, it doesn't really matter if it makes sense. That's my way of looking at it, anyway.
