[Hello Violet city. Having a nice day? Say, have you ever seen a seven foot tall ghost before? No? Well today's your lucky day then, because there's one (a Dusknoir to be exact) floating down the street this very moment. Should you happen to be walking toward this lazily floating spectre, you might not notice anything odd at first. Though if you look at its "collar" you'll see a set of human hands grasping each side of it.]

[Strange.]

[If you stand still and continue watching, letting the ghost float past you, however, the hands will make sense as you will be greeted with the following sight:]

[Yes, this is apparently the Dusknoir equivalent of a piggyback ride, and John is having the time of his life...even though it really isn't moving any faster than he could walk on his own. In fact, it might actually be moving slower.]

[Approach? He'll just be floating around for a while and doesn't appear to be too terribly busy.]

[Video Transmission; some time later...probably about 30 minutes to an hour.]

[When the feed clicks on, the image is very dark. Like, really dark. The only thing you can actually, sort-of see is John's face. And that's only because the dim light of the pokegear screen is reflecting off of his face. It's causing some major glare issues with his glasses, so you can't really see his eyes. However, he has what is quite possibly the biggest, most excited, grin ever on his face.]

Hey, did anyone know that the zig-zag pattern on Dusknoir's body is actually some kind of mouth? [A stifled, giggling noise.] Guess where I am right now?

[The feed clicks off.]

Oh, hi Feferi! Yeah, it's tons of fun! If I had known that Elliot would evolve into something this awesome, I would have done so a lot sooner. [And catching sight of that Kingler.] Oh hey! Karkrabby evolved! Congratulations!

It does look pretty cool... but you really aren't creeped out by it? I mean, that looks like a Pokemon that Aradia would like. All ghosty and stuff!

[ PROUD BREEDER SMILE. ] Yup! He evolved just a few days ago. Now he's a strong king crab! Aren't you, Karkrab?

No, not at all! Ghost types are my favorites. And funnily enough...I think Aradia might actually have one too. Or at least the first stage of it. I have no idea whether she evolved it or not.

That's good! Looks like he's calmed down some, too.

Huh. Well, it definitely would suit her!

[ she giggles and nods! ] Yes! I have managed to tame his crabby little personality. Now, if only Karkat could do the same!

Because she was a robot ghost frog or something, right?

Hehe, yeah that would be nice. How'd you manage to do that so quickly though? You must have a real knack for it. I've been trying for a while to get my Umbreon to listen to me better without any luck.

Yes! She was alive... and then she wasn't. And then she was a frog-kernelsprite, and then a robot. She was many things in our session, I almost lost track of them all!

Well... I am not reely sure myself! There were a few times where I lost my patience with him, but that didn't get me anywhere. I just had to show that I cared a lot about him, I guess~!

Maybe once he evolved, he realized that I put lots of work into raising him. But I don't know for sure!

Yeah, from what I heard it was pretty strange. Heheh, closest thing we had to something like that was when Dave prototyped his alternate future self. And...that's not really all that similar.

Oh...hm. I wish mine had come to that realization when he evolved. I've been trying that same approach and it doesn't seem to be working too well.

Heheh, that is pretty different! But close enough, I guess.

Just keep at it! I'm sure he'll come around eventually.
