prank #21 | action for violet city/video

[Action for anywhere in Violet City; Around noon]

[Hello Violet city. Having a nice day? Say, have you ever seen a seven foot tall ghost before? No? Well today's your lucky day then, because there's one (a Dusknoir to be exact) floating down the street this very moment. Should you happen to be walking toward this lazily floating spectre, you might not notice anything odd at first. Though if you look at its "collar" you'll see a set of human hands grasping each side of it.]

[Strange.]

[If you stand still and continue watching, letting the ghost float past you, however, the hands will make sense as you will be greeted with the following sight:]

[Yes, this is apparently the Dusknoir equivalent of a piggyback ride, and John is having the time of his life...even though it really isn't moving any faster than he could walk on his own. In fact, it might actually be moving slower.]

[Approach? He'll just be floating around for a while and doesn't appear to be too terribly busy.]

[Video Transmission; some time later...probably about 30 minutes to an hour.]

[When the feed clicks on, the image is very dark. Like, really dark. The only thing you can actually, sort-of see is John's face. And that's only because the dim light of the pokegear screen is reflecting off of his face. It's causing some major glare issues with his glasses, so you can't really see his eyes. However, he has what is quite possibly the biggest, most excited, grin ever on his face.]

Hey, did anyone know that the zig-zag pattern on Dusknoir's body is actually some kind of mouth? [A stifled, giggling noise.] Guess where I am right now?

[The feed clicks off.]

((ooc: Since the second one can technically also be action, please specify which scenario you're doing if you're going the action route. Thanks! :D))

Yeah, but Elliot is my friend! He would never do something that would hurt me. Besides, he gave permission and it's not like ghosts actually have to eat or anything.

[none of this makes sense!!]

You're inside... a ghost.

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-03 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[This is what you get for talking to John. Making sense isn't really his thing.]

Yes, a ghost pokémon. A really big one!

[identity profile] utterlyupbeat.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
... That doesn't even sound possible.

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Eyebrow quirk.]

What doesn't sound possible about it? Ghost type pokémon aren't quite the same as normal ghosts. They're not always incorporeal.

[identity profile] utterlyupbeat.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
... That's kind of misleading...

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
[Shrug.]

They can be when they want to be. But you must be relatively new to Johto though if this is surprising. There are far weirder things here than ghost types.

[identity profile] utterlyupbeat.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 01:32 am (UTC)(link)
[/)_(\ he doesn't think a month and a half is "new" but he doesn't want to admit that...]

... Like what?

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
[He's just making an assumption...and you know what they say about doing that.]

Like the fact that there are flying types big enough to ride, but you can't actually use them to fly anywhere without a special machine to teach them how to do so. Or the fact that everything here, even the mammals and ghosts, lay eggs. Certain pokémon can explode yet somehow stay in one piece. Let's see...what else. Oh, there are rocks that float. And don't even get me started on some of the strange evolutions. Hell, evolution in and of itself is kind of a weird process. This guy that I'm sitting in right now? He evolved because I handed him to my girlfriend for a second. Literally.

The list goes on and on, but basically it's just best not to question stuff here.

[identity profile] utterlyupbeat.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
. . . Wow.

That's really weird.

But. Okay.

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 05:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, and then there was the one weekend that nobody remembers and people somehow managed to wind up in completely different cities by the end of it. That was weird.

But anyway, I'm John, what's your name?

[identity profile] utterlyupbeat.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
[...]

Um. Sergio. ... Does that kind of thing happen often...?

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Nice to meet you Sergio. And if you mean the weekend memory loss thing, I'd have to say it doesn't happen too often, no. I've been here almost seven months and in that entire time, it's only happened once.

[identity profile] utterlyupbeat.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 07:19 am (UTC)(link)
That's... kind of reassuring. Almost.

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
It really wasn't that bad it's just...annoying not to be able to remember most of what you did. Sometimes I remember bits and pieces of it, but those bits and pieces don't make much sense. So I wouldn't worry about it too much if I were you.

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-04 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it might. But if it does, it's not the end of the world. It might be annoying not to remember but in the grand scheme of things it's not such a big deal.

[Shrug.]

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-05 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Then it gets worse. And we deal with that if it ever happens. No sense in worrying over something that may never happen.

[identity profile] utterlyupbeat.livejournal.com 2011-08-05 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
You're ... really easy-going . . .

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-05 07:36 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly, worrying about the future or the unknown just stresses me out and makes me feel sick to my stomach. So I try and take things as they come. Worrying doesn't really help anything.

[identity profile] utterlyupbeat.livejournal.com 2011-08-06 01:34 am (UTC)(link)
A certain level of worrying is normal. Like when in a pokemon's stomach.

But that's just an example.

[identity profile] usedwindything.livejournal.com 2011-08-06 01:40 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, I think if this were a wild pokémon, I would worry. But Elliot is my friend and I have had him since the day he hatched. So I don't see a reason to be. But I guess you have a point. It can be good in moderation.

[identity profile] utterlyupbeat.livejournal.com 2011-08-06 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
[not gonna even argue that first thing anymore.]

See? I mean, it's bad if it's stressful, but...
