prank #30 | video+text; GHOST EGGS

[It's kind of hard to miss the three very large ghosts, a Dusknoir and both varieties of Jellicent, floating behind John when he turns on the feed today. Though they are hardly the only ghosts in the room. A Froslass floats lazily around the room, occasionally sending a stream of snow at the Dusknoir or the Spiritomb that sits on the floor. Both of the ghosts in question are doing their best to ignore this, though the Dusknoir Seems to be doing a better job of it. On John's shoulder sits a tiny Litwick.]

So if it's been over a year since an ectobiologist actually did something involving ghosts and biology, can he still call himself an ectobiologist? [There is a very slight pause.] No! Of course he can't, duh!

[John pans the camera over to the bed where there is a small pile of eggs wrapped in knitted blankets of varying colors. A Golett sits next to the eggs, eying them curiously. There are probably somewhere around twenty eggs or so, of several different varities:]

So, as you can see, I did something to fix that! [The camera pans back to John.] Now as much as I would like to, I obviously can't keep all these eggs myself. Pretty sure that would max out my PC storage. So I am sell--

[He cuts off as the rock-looking egg with the swirl on the front is shoved in front of the camera. It is followed shortly by the Golett's face. It nods excitedly, looking about as happy as is possible for an animated rock-ghost and points to the egg.]

Giant...

[The Gollet just keeps pointing, spinning the egg around so that it's visible from all angles. Oooo! Aaaaa! you are impressed and you want to buy this egg. But as impressed as you are, the same cannot be said for John who is now trying to push the Golett out of frame with little sucess.]

Giant, come on stop. You aren't helping! Just kind of inturrupting hones-- no Chandel, not you too!

[There's a happy almost squeak-like noise from the Litwick as she flies over to the bed to try and "help" too, john following after her. Though the eggs are much too big for her nubby little arms. It's a shame this part can't actually be seen on film, it's actually quite cute. Before this situation can get any more out of hand, the Dusknoir moves over to the camera, easily moves the Golett out of the way, picks up the camera, and ends the feed. A few moments later, a text is sent out.]

sorry about that.
anyway. eggs, selling them.
i am happy to answer any questions about the parents, eggs, and/or ghost types in general.
here's prices and junk:

[And then there's a list of species, quantity, and egg moves.]

((ooc: Claim post is the aforelinked link. I just didn't feel like posting that list up a second time. There is still a small chunk of unclaimed eggs, so have at 'em if you want 'em.))

They sure do! [He stopped questioning this stuff ages ago. It's just better not to even wonder about why pokemon breeding works the way it does.]

Mostly yellow... [He moves over to the bed and picks up one of the Snorunt eggs.] This one, right? This is a Snorunt, and it's actually not a ghost. At least, not when it hatches. They have kind of a funky evolution path. If you just let them reach a certain level, they become a Glalie. But if you have a female and you use a dawn stone on her, then you get the part ghost type Froslass. Which is... [He turns the camera to point it at his own Froslass, still floating lazily but at the moment refraining from shooting anybody.] what Crystal is.

I'll probably have to start thinking "everything's possible", soon.

[One day he will not be confused.

Wow... the Froslass is really pretty. He's certainly charmed and interested by that, even if it's not certain the egg will be a girl.]

That sounds interesting. I've heard of many different evolution types, but that's the first based on gender. [Hmmm. Ice types might be useful as well...]

May I buy one of those?
extinguishescandles: (no i cannot smile less derpishly.)

It's not a very common evolution type, which is probably a good thing. The only other one I know of that does it is the Ralts line.

But yes, you certainly can buy one! Just let me know where to send it, and I can have one of my birds there in a matter of hours.
kyoukashotennis: (Oh right)

Ah... I should probably keep a memo of evolutions so I remember all of them. [Would probably make his life easier, yep.]

I'm actually traveling towards the Union Cave... I think there's a Pokémon Center before the cave though.

Might come in handy. Oh! But if you do get a female and you do want a Froslass, I would definitely recommend evolving her earlier rather than later. It's kind of the opposite of most stone evolutions. If you wait too long and level her up too high, she will miss out on a bunch of moves, mostly ghost type ones.

There is indeed a Center before the cave, though. Actually...since you probably don't want to be stuck there for too long, it might be easier if we just do a PC transfer once you arrive.

Oh, I see. [A nod and a smile.] That's useful to know, thank you.

A PC transfer? I've... never done one of those... but if that's more convenient then let's do that.

You're welcome!

[He likes nerding at people sharing trainer tips with people who haven't been here as long as he has.]

They're pretty easy though, just a couple of button pushes and bam! there's your egg. Just let me know when you get to the center and I can walk you through it. I will be heading that way soon anyway to do a few other transfers.
kyoukashotennis: (So who's next?)

That does sound simple. I'll contact you as soon as I'm there, then. Though who will I be connecting? [Derp, introductions. Always forgotten by him.] I'm Shiraishi Kuranosuke.

(ooc: want to handwave it or play it somehow?)
extinguishescandles: (whoops! my bad.)

[Double derp: John always forgets them too.]

Ah, right, sorry. I'm John Egbert!

((ooc: We can handwave it if you want, that's usually easier anyway since it's just kinda like...AND THEN THERE WAS COMPUTER STUFF AND EGGS HAPPENED.))
