General Pokémon Notebook
A blue notebook with a Dunsparce sticker stuck to the front. Started in March, 2011, at the suggestion of Rose Lalonde, this notebook was used as a training tool to help try and keep John motivated. Initially, it was meant only to contain information on John's Pokémon as well as various battle strategies and just general notes for him to keep in mind. However, as time went on, John began to add different topics to it. In addition to individual notes and strategies, this notebook also contains notes on the Pokémon World itself, legends and rumors, and an ongoing list of "Pokémon World Oddities That Are Really Fucking Dumb".

ok so rose has been on my ass to start this journal thing as part of my training regimen. she's kind of a slave driver so i don't really have a choice in the matter. because she will just keep hounding me until i actually do it. anyway, i had to start somewhere so i figured i would start with the good colonel because what better place to start then at the beginning, right?
so unlike the games, where you get a choice of three starters, in real-life johto, there are more starter options than bulbasaur, charmander, and squirtle. you also don't get a choice in the matter. hm... perhaps in soviet johto, pokémon choose you? hahaha. no seriously, i have no idea what's up with that but this little guy was there when i woke up and has been with me ever since. i named him colonel sassacre because... idk. it seemed like a good name for him somehow? though thinking on it now maybe i should have gone with colonel hissacre. because he's a snake, get it? hahaha. at least i THINK he's supposed to be a snake. a really fat snake. though maybe he will grow out of that when he evolves.
which, speaking of, i kind of thought he would have by now!! i mean tripp is already a pidgeot, poké-rose is a quagsire and even slimer evolved into a haunter the other night! but still nothing with sassacre and he's the highest level of all of them. i have avoided looking up more info on dunsparces during rose's library field trips but i am beginning to feel like maybe i should just bite the bullet and look already. the suspense is killing me. maybe he's like dragonair or ryhorn and he doesn't evolve until really late in the game. i bet he'll be badass though. giant flying snake. once i get the fly hm i can really take to the skies in style, mwahaha.
i think i'm getting a little off track here though. jeez, all that writing and i haven't even said what he's like yet, go me. way to miss the point on something you don't really even want to do. anyway, ok here goes. sassacre is kind of an enigma. he doesn't talk much, not that i could actually understand him even if he did but from what i can tell he doesn't even talk to my other pokémon much. i know he IS capable of it though, i mean i have heard him do it a few times. those times are just few and far between. but beyond not "talking", his face hardly ever changes expression. I can't even tell if he's awake or asleep half the time. despite his namesake though, he doesn't seem to be too much into pranks. i can at least tell that much. infact, sometimes i swear i see him give slimer a disapproving glare whenever he tries to pull something.

Pokémon World Oddities That Are Really Fucking Dumb
Ghost Type Notebook
A purple notebook with Haunter and Dusknoir stickers stuck to the front. Started in July, 2011, this "ectonotebook" was originally part of John's blue "General" notebook. However, as time went on and he began to acquire more ghost types as well as enjoy keeping notes in general, he decided to start a second notebook solely for ghosts. He recopied all the relevant notes and removed them from the blue notebook. Initially, it was meant only to contain information on John's Ghost type Pokémon as well as various battle strategies. However, as time went on, John began to add different topics to it. In addition to individual notes and strategies, this notebook also contains notes on "Ectobiology (Pokémon World Style!)" as well as legends and rumors dealing with ghosts.

so far, they have all belonged to the amorphous group, which is convenient.
unsure if this will hold true for ghosts i haven't captured yet. so i'll leave a little space, just in case.it's not, there are some exceptions.crystal: fairy/mineral

+ tron is genderless, and can therefore only breed with mythtique. (edit: giant is also genderless.) ((edit: so is exos.))
individual observations:
+ slimer doesn't seem to be picky about his mates,
though it might be worth noting that he went for tera-geist first? maybe there's some sort of attraction there.nope. he will pretty much breed with whoever and have no qualms about it.+ elliot was only interested in breeding with sigourney in my first ectosession. i'm not surprised by this, i always had a feeling he had a thing for her. however, he doesn't seem bothered by the prospect of a different mate? this seems oddly complicated.
+ the same seems to hold true for sigourney.
+ os'tiiva is garnet's daughter and this seems to be something of a put-off to some. slimer doesn't seem to care, but elliot and levi both refused.
+ prince eric will only mate with ariel and seems offended by the suggestion of doing otherwise.
+ i think giant has a thing for crystal, even though the two of them can't even breed...what did any of this have to do with ectobiology?+ i do not think the same holds true for crystal though, she seems more interested in cupid than anybody else. he's not even a ghost! and jesus when did he turn into such a ladies' man i swear all of rose and i's fairy and flying group girls want him...
+ ADDENDUM! according to elliot via juggabro, he's not comfortable with the idea of having children with pokémon who are children themselves. meaning, he won't breed with of my pokémon who hatched from eggs after he did (which is every ghost egg i've hatched because he was my first). [There is an arrow connecting this bulletpoint up to the second one.]
+ garnet is somewhat picky (surprise, surprise) and will, so far, only breed with slimer, elliot, and levi.
+ i'm beginning to think that chandel might be the only one who will put up with tron's hyperactivity enough to breed with him.
+ gizmo and hisui admittedly kind of weird me out a little. he actively tries to woo her and there's just something unsettling about the whole thing. maybe it's the muscle flexing on his part. i'm pretty sure if pokémon were capable of crazy bedroom antics, these two would get into all sorts of kinky shit.
+ i feel like any attempts to breed earl grey will end in failure but i guess we'll see. call it a hunch.

Food Notebook
A yellow notebook with a Lopunny sticker stuck to the front. Started in December, 2012, this notebook contains notes on a variety of topics dealing with food. Includes a with notes on the favorite foods and baked goods of all John's friends. There are several pages devoted entirely to Rose Lalonde's incredibly selective tastes. Apart from that, it is filled with a variety of recipes which John has either copied from books/TV programs or stumbled across himself accidentally in the kitchen.

Miscellaneous Notebook
A pocket-sized green notebook with a Bulbasaur sticker stuck to the front. This notebook is always kept on John's person, either in his pocket or fanny pack in case he needs to jot something down. Started in May, 2011, this notebook contains notes on a variety of topics that could have to do with just about anything. There are sections devoted to important dates, "friend disappearance counts", as well as a section devoted to "treatment tips and tricks" that John has picked up on his job as a Pokécenter Medical Assistant. Other than that, it the pages are devoted to scribbles and notes of anything that happened to pop into John's mind that he thought was worth taking note of, be it piano melodies or gift ideas.
