ok so rose has been on my ass to start this journal thing as part of my training regimen. she's kind of a slave driver so i don't really have a choice in the matter. because she will just keep hounding me until i actually do it. anyway, i had to start somewhere so i figured i would start with the good colonel because what better place to start then at the beginning, right?

so unlike the games, where you get a choice of three starters, in real-life johto, there are more starter options than bulbasaur, charmander, and squirtle. you also don't get a choice in the matter. hm... perhaps in soviet johto, pokémon choose you? hahaha. no seriously, i have no idea what's up with that but this little guy was there when i woke up and has been with me ever since. i named him colonel sassacre because... idk. it seemed like a good name for him somehow? though thinking on it now maybe i should have gone with colonel hissacre. because he's a snake, get it? hahaha. at least i THINK he's supposed to be a snake. a really fat snake. though maybe he will grow out of that when he evolves.

which, speaking of, i kind of thought he would have by now!! i mean tripp is already a pidgeot, poké-rose is a quagsire and even slimer evolved into a haunter the other night! but still nothing with sassacre and he's the highest level of all of them. i have avoided looking up more info on dunsparces during rose's library field trips but i am beginning to feel like maybe i should just bite the bullet and look already. the suspense is killing me. maybe he's like dragonair or ryhorn and he doesn't evolve until really late in the game. i bet he'll be badass though. giant flying snake. once i get the fly hm i can really take to the skies in style, mwahaha.

i think i'm getting a little off track here though. jeez, all that writing and i haven't even said what he's like yet, go me. way to miss the point on something you don't really even want to do. anyway, ok here goes. sassacre is kind of an enigma. he doesn't talk much, not that i could actually understand him even if he did but from what i can tell he doesn't even talk to my other pokémon much. i know he IS capable of it though, i mean i have heard him do it a few times. those times are just few and far between. but beyond not "talking", his face hardly ever changes expression. I can't even tell if he's awake or asleep half the time. despite his namesake though, he doesn't seem to be too much into pranks. i can at least tell that much. infact, sometimes i swear i see him give slimer a disapproving glare whenever he tries to pull something.
