prank #22 | video + text (filtered)

[There's a somewhat baffled look on John's face as he holds up an orange-ish disc emblazoned with a small 35 in front of the pokégear. On his shoulder, sits his loyal Dunsparce, Sassacre, staring at the small communication device with a blank a look as ever on his face.]

So I bought a few TMs and uh... [He pauses to give the disc a very pointed look.] Okay, basically how in the hell do these things work? Are they supposed to like...eat it or something? Because I'm not seeing any other way to insert a disc into a living thing.

[Somebody forgot to ask about it before he left the department store. Oops. He makes to turn the pokégear off, but stops, suddenly remembering something.]

Oh and...this might be old news, but Aradia has gone back home. I found her Kabutops in my box when we got back to Goldenrod.

are you ready for that second date?
or, well, for me to tell you what it is, at least?

Just two for this little guy here. [A pat to the Dunsparce's head.] Flamethrower and Iron Tail. He learned his entire moveset a few months ago and I thought he might like to learn something new since it's been so long. Plus I figured his arsenal could use some extra firepower. [Literally.]

Flamethrower certainly does count as firepower. And a more versatile moveset is almost always useful.

Hehehe, yeah it most certainly is. And he seems to be able to learn quite a variety of different typed moves. It's a shame they didn't have solar beam in the store. That would have been awesome.

Oh, they didn't? That's a shame, it's quite a powerful move.

It really is a shame. Especially since it's probably one of the very last moves you would expect from a Dunsparce, which makes it even better. Oh well, maybe I can find it somewhere else.

Mm, yes-- isn't Dunsparce the one you find in that cave near Violet? You certainly wouldn't expect a sun-based move from a Pokemon like that.

Um...I think? I haven't been inside that cave myself. Sassacre was my starter. But yeah I'm pretty sure that the pokédex said that they're cave-dwellers.

Ah, I see. Either way, it would be quite interesting.
