[Now that the wong has wound down somewhat, John's starting to come down from his happy high a bit. Not that this really means much since he's pretty happy anyway. Sure he was a little confused to find himself in a room in the Cianwood hotel this morning considering he was in Goldenrod last he remembered. But that's beside the point!]

[The point is, clearly, the small pile of eggs visible on screen behind him, being tended to by a Lopunny in a pink sweater, an Espeon, and an Altaria. John clears his throat. Rose has entrusted him with selling the eggs while she's out taking care of other things and dammit he is not going to screw this up! PROFESSIONALISM IS KEY.]

Good afternoon! My name is John Egbert and as you can see, I have a few eggs here that need homes. I know what you may be thinking: [He puts on a nonsensical voice.] 'but I just got an egg yesterday, John! I really don't need another one!' And that's fine, you are entitled to your own opinon but let me just ask you this. Do you know what's better than one freshly hatched baby pokemon? [A pause and then an excited:] TWO freshly hatched baby pokemon! Or more! Seriously, you can never have too many baby pokemon! Especially when they are something as adorable as an Eevee, Swablu, or Buneary! Which, in my humble opinion is pretty much the most adorable pokemon there is.

Uhm... [He falls silent. Where was he going with this? He kind of got lost in his spiel there.] Oh right! I almost forgot. Egg moves and prices! [He pulls a crumpled piece of paper out of his pocket, unfolding it and reading it. Seems Rose left him a note so that he wouldn't forget...you know. The most important part of selling eggs. Though John seems to take some issue with what's written on the paper, quirking a brow and mumbling to himself for a minute.] Are these really the right prices...? [And then he remembers that this is still filming.]

Oh! Um, I am just going to send this info as a text since it will probably be easier than having me list it off verbally. Why didn't I just do that from the beginning...

Alright! [Walking over to the couch, gracelessly flops backwards onto it next to her, peering at the coffee table to see what's for dinner.]

[[Just some sandwiches from one of the local delis is all. Nothing too fancy.]]

John, do you happen to remember this? [[Holding up her left hand for him, where the ring is still situated on the ring finger.]]

[A bit of the color drains from his face when he sees the ring. Ohhhh boy. He actually did that didn't he? He hadn't forgotten about it, but honestly the whole thing had felt oddly surreal. And when Rose hadn't said anything about it to him that morning, he had chalked it all up to being a dream. Granted, he hadn't been awake enough to really make sense of anything and he hadn't had his glasses on so he couldn't actually see her finger to see if the ring was there but...]

Ah...yes. I do...remember that.

[breedslilacs]

[[Putting her hand in her lap and fiddling with the ring a little, she tries to decide what to say next.]]

What...exactly do you remember about it?

[extinguishescandles]

I...remember that I put it on top of a red velvet cake. And that...you said yes! [A beat.] Eventually. After I actually asked you to uh...you know. [He scratches the back of his neck.] Marry me.

[He gives a nervous laugh because WOW all those nerves that didn't hit him last night are suddenly flooding his system. She's going to tell him that it was a very touching gesture but now that she's in her right mind, she can't possibly say yes. They're just too young and blah blah blah something like that John why did you think this was a good idea?]

Mmm, so it was a proposal. [[More fiddling with the ring.]] And did you mean it? Or was this a brash move made in a whim due to whatever it was that encouraged me to hug every person I met on sight?

[extinguishescandles]

Ah well...a little of both? See because, I did mean it. I do love you and I do want to marry you someday. But had it not been for whatever it was that made me think that proposing RIGHT NOW would be a good idea then I wouldn't have done it last night. It wouldn't have been for another few years. Like...maybe when we were twenty or so? Twenty one maybe?

But no I...meant it. It wasn't some whimsical idea that I had just last night. I'd already been thinking about it just in the context of 'this is how I'm going to propose to Rose when we're older! And for the record the original plan definitely did not involve cake. It was more of a traditional, down on one knee at a nice candlelit dinner sort of thing.

[[Taking all this in, she leans against the back of the couch a little, staring at the ring in thought.]]

...twenty one huh? [[With an amused chuckle, she sits forward to unwrap the two sandwiches, offering one to John.]] Here.

[extinguishescandles]

Or twenty, but yeah. [He takes the sandwich.] Thanks.

[He falls silent as he takes a bite, chewing it up thoughtfully.]

Why? Did you have a different age in mind? Is that still too early?

No, it's fine. And I never said anything about too early.

[extinguishescandles]

Well no you didn't but you kind of...giggled.

In relief.

[extinguishescandles]

Oh. Okay well that's good. [He takes a few more bites.] So uh...relief becaaaauuussseee...? [He raises his brows, hoping she'll finish that sentence for him. And elaborate more on what it is she's trying to get at here.]

[breedslilacs]

Relief because I was hoping that would be your answer. That you meant it.

[extinguishescandles]

Well I certainly did mean it! With all of my heart.

[breedslilacs]

And I'm glad. And again, relieved. [[Time to take a bite of her own sandwich!]]

So you're not... [He shifts a little in his seat, staring at his socks and then glancing over at Rose.] saying it was a bad idea or anything? Or that you don't... I mean...you're okay with it being real I guess is what I'm asking?

[breedslilacs]

Yes. Actually I was worried you didn't mean it, because...I wasn't sure where that would leave me.

[extinguishescandles]

Well like I said, I meant it! So there's nothing for you to worry about there. [Sannnndwiiiicchhh.]

So uh, [He clears his throat.] Does this make us...you know?

[breedslilacs]

Fiances? I'm fairly certain that's what it indicates.

[extinguishescandles]

[It's a wonder he didn't have a heart attack right then. Because it certainly felt like his heart just swelled up to three times its normal size at that.]

And you are positive you're okay with that?

[breedslilacs]

I wouldn't say it if I wasn't, though I will admit I wouldn't want to tell everyone just yet. [[Because she knows that will bring judging, and while she couldn't care less what people think of her, she doesn't want to see anyone thinking poorly of John.]]

[extinguishescandles]

...oh. [He deflates a little, considerably less excited to hear that. That was going to be his next question.]

...Just for precautions John. [[No please don't deflate.]] We can of course tell friends but...

[extinguishescandles]

No, yeah I...get it. Because it's kind of weird, right? Since...we're so young.

[And he does understand! Frankly, if he's being completely honest here, he's not all that surprised to hear Rose suggest it. It's just...when he's happy about something, he doesn't like hiding it.]

But as long as we don't have to hide it from Dave, Jade, and Vriska, it's okay!
