i am curious.
for the tournament next month, how are you picking your team?
not asking what you picked specifically, just the thought process behind it.
is it better to go with your strongest or your favorites?
or do you have a different game plan entirely?
it's a lot harder narrowing it down to just three than i thought it would be.
i know there's still plenty of time and i don't have to decide TODAY but the sooner the better, right?

not sure if i hope i end up facing you at some point out of morbid curiosity, or if i hope that i get eliminated by someone else before that has the chance to happen.
type coverage is where i am having the most trouble. a lot of my strongest are the same types.
as tempting as it is to try and go gym leader mode with it, that's kind of a scary prospect.

You can work around weaknesses if you pick the right strategy. Even with a serious type advantage, there are ways to throw your opponents off guard.

Heck, some Gym Leaders are a pain. I had to fight Sabrina twice because of her Wobbuffet. You'll probably be fine if you play your cards right.

yeah it's just a matter of working that strategy out.
hmm...maybe i'm worrying and overthinking it too much.
i mean it's just for fun, right?
i doubt i will win but i would like to do at least somewhat well, you know?

Yeah. Hard to say what we'll be up against, but I still don't think it hurts to give it your all.

As for that Wobbuffet... Picture this. You're about to score a KO on one of her Pokémon when, surprise! She switches to the blue punching bag and nails your Pokémon with Counter.

Before you can even land it with Toxic, she switches to another Pokémon. Fight resumes until, hah, out comes the Wobbuffet again.

She basically used it to deflect any finishing blows that first go-around. Needless to say, it was a nightmare.

uh...yeah it definitely sounds like that would qualify as a nightmare.

luckily i have her weak point pretty well covered but jesus that sounds obnoxious even with a bunch of ghosts at your disposal.

Here's a tip for her: Use a dark type and stick to special attacks. Mirror coat doesn't affect darks, so that's the easiest way to knock out a Wobbuffet.

Saved me so much trouble the second time around.

why doesn't it work on dark types though, that seems a little strange.

Mirror coat's a psychic move. Dark types are immune to psychic attacks.

Or you could just hurl one of your ghosts at it and use physical moves. Tough part's that you can't switch away from a Wobbuffet.

[Can you tell that most of the research he does is on ghost types? He should work on that.]

meanwhile, she can switch as much as she wants for double aggravation.
