[Action for anywhere in Violet City; Around noon]

[Hello Violet city. Having a nice day? Say, have you ever seen a seven foot tall ghost before? No? Well today's your lucky day then, because there's one (a Dusknoir to be exact) floating down the street this very moment. Should you happen to be walking toward this lazily floating spectre, you might not notice anything odd at first. Though if you look at its "collar" you'll see a set of human hands grasping each side of it.]

[Strange.]

[If you stand still and continue watching, letting the ghost float past you, however, the hands will make sense as you will be greeted with the following sight:]

[Yes, this is apparently the Dusknoir equivalent of a piggyback ride, and John is having the time of his life...even though it really isn't moving any faster than he could walk on his own. In fact, it might actually be moving slower.]

[Approach? He'll just be floating around for a while and doesn't appear to be too terribly busy.]

[Video Transmission; some time later...probably about 30 minutes to an hour.]

[When the feed clicks on, the image is very dark. Like, really dark. The only thing you can actually, sort-of see is John's face. And that's only because the dim light of the pokegear screen is reflecting off of his face. It's causing some major glare issues with his glasses, so you can't really see his eyes. However, he has what is quite possibly the biggest, most excited, grin ever on his face.]

Hey, did anyone know that the zig-zag pattern on Dusknoir's body is actually some kind of mouth? [A stifled, giggling noise.] Guess where I am right now?

[The feed clicks off.]

M-Mmm.. [A nod.] Yeah. And this is really nice so I'm not complaining.

[[Sighing, she wraps her arms around her legs and rests her chin on her knees, closing her eyes.]]

You could never be a bother! And what did you think I was going to say? "No, go away?" You didn't really even have to ask...you could have just said "scoot over, I'm joining you," and that would have been okay with me.

Well it's only polite to ask. And who knows? Perhaps this would be an occasion of "no girls allowed", hmm? An all boy Duskfort?

How old do you think I am? Five? And even if that were the case, it would be "no girls allowed except Rose," because I can't very well say no to my girlfriend now, can I? Besides, I like spending time with you!

[[Smiling again, she moves to sit next to him rather than somewhat across from him.]]

John, boys at the age of seventeen still do that. Though I'm glad I would be an exception. I was merely teasing you, however.

Even if you were just teasing, I felt that was something you needed to know.

[He gives her hand a quick sideways glance, debating with himself as to whether or not he should take it.]

So...what do you think?

[[She's none the wiser to your sideways glance.]]

It's actually quite cozy in here. Very pleasant. Even more pleasant with your company.

[Good, because he's still not sure if he should go through with it or not.]

I agree. It's definitely much nicer with you in here too. Less room, but I'm willing to sacrifice a little legroom for you. Plus, like you said. It's cozy.

Mmm. [[Relaxing back a little as best as she can, she glances out Elliot's mouth and hums a little.]]

It's also not too bad temperature wise. The shade is nice.

Yeah, I'm definitely glad for that. Because it's what...like almost ninety degrees out today?

[Okay, John. You can do this. It's just holding her hand. It's not like it's a kiss or-- oh god, don't think about kissing. Just reach over and take her hand in yours. It's not hard. You've done it before! She didn't mind last time and she won't mind this time because she's your girlfriend and she lo--likes you. She likes you. Get it right, she's never said that other L word to you. Though, then again, neither have you.]

[You've said it about her, but never to her. Maybe you should do something about that, John.]

[After a bit more internal pep-talking, he reaches over and places his hand on top of Rose's hand, attempting to be nonchalant about it.]

Heh...I mean, it's not that much cooler in here but it's better than nothing, at least.

[[Glancing down at their hands a moment, she nods and looks back out at the tree. She turns her hand over and just as nonchalantly laces their fingers.]]

Ninety degrees...ugh. This is horrid weather. And not that much cooler maybe, but yes. Most certainly better than nothing. Perhaps if we gathered a bucket of ice and set it down in here with us, that would help drop the temperature a little.

[[Taking off her jacket probably would too, but she's yet to really consider that.]]

[His heart soars a little at that, and he's more than happy to entwine his fingers with hers as well.]

The absolute worst. I don't see how anyone can stand it. That might help though. Or if one of us had an ice type. We'd be set! Pokémon air conditioning!

[[And when he does, his hand receives a little squeeze.]]

Oh yes, that's a splendid idea. I will most certainly have to keep an eye open for an ice type of some sort. Then we could pack a lunch and go on a picnic outdoors to enjoy the beautiful skies, but still remain relatively cool

Beat the heat? No, Rose and John don't just beat the heat, they slaughter it. With Pokémon. It's like Summer is the ninth gym leader and we both just got our Heat Badges.

[Give him a second to think about what he just said and realize how ridiculous it sounded.]

Or...something. Oh my god that sounded so dumb... A-Anyway, I would really like to do that some time. Actually that...kind of reminds me of something.

[[Chuckling, she grinned.]] I like that badge. And oh? What would that be?

[[Okay, stopping her giggling now. Actually, you might be able to see her blush just a little at that. She already has an idea of what you might be trying to do, John. Or a hope. So she's just going to nod a little, giving you her full attention.]]

Well we...uh. We never actually you know...did that. Which is my fault because I said I would pick the next one...and I feel kind of bad about it. But there was something I had in mind I just wasn't really sure what you would think about it so I didn't say anything. And then we ended up coming back to Violet so that kind of put it even further out of my mind since we couldn't really do what I was thinking about here even if I did finally ask you about it. And now I'm rambling and I'm sorry but basically um...would you still like to go on a second date?

[He took maybe 2 breaths throughout this entire thing and they were both at the beginning. Can you tell he's just the tiniest bit nervous, Rose?]

[[She sits and listens, unable to keep a smile from her face as he rambles on and on. Giving him a few minutes to calm down before she answers, she gives his hand a squeeze and scoots over just the tiniest bit closer to him.]]

[[And this is taking all her nerve to follow through with it, so have some patience. She's just going to lean her head on your shoulder and reach up to tuck a bit of stray hair behind her ear.]]
