[Hello everyone, what are you up to this fine summer evening? Out training perhaps? Playing with your Pokémon? Sitting down to a delicious dinner? Maybe doing a little shopping before all the stores close?]

[Well whatever you're doing, no matter how much you are minding your own business, you may soon find yourself with a +1.]

[John has no idea what's going on, one minute he was in the middle of his anniversary dinner with Rose and the next, he's lord only knows where with whoever "you" happen to be. Not that "you" aren't good company, and all! But it's kind of rude to leave your significant other in the middle of a date. But the worst part?]

[It keeps happening.]

[Whatever is doing this isn't content to let him stay in one place for very long. He keeps disappearing and reappearing with a quiet "zap!" every few of minutes, sometimes appearing back at the restaurant and other times appearing someplace else entirely. Dammit, can't a guy just eat in peace? This is terrible.]

[Why on Earth did he box that weird Pokémon he caught last night... better yet, why did he catch it at all?!]

Aradia probably isn't as startled or confused by this as she should be. John has managed to find her sitting outdoors between locations, taking notes in her binder while a few of her roster play around. Indy's just skulking in the shadows, but the others are sort of being a bit more active.

She's not completely unsurprised, but John gets a cheerful grin all the same. ]

When did you get teleportation abilities, John?

[ and, after actually closing her binder to deal with this new event - ]

Oh, you look nice! Why are you all dressed up to teleport? ...Why are you teleporting, for that matter? Is this to do with the ongoing silliness?

[ this may end up being a short conversation but HEY MAY AS WELL CHAT WHILE HE'S HERE. For...whatever reason. ]

[Dave blinks. He's been standing on his hands for less than two minutes and he's already seeing shit?]

Okay, there's no way my mind is messed up this badly.

John. [He drops back onto his feet, and turns around. Had the weirdness ended? Or not.]

What the fuck. Did you forget the breathmint or something?

[Mom is in a clothing store in Celadon City and she's trying to choose between a very sexy black dress and a more conservative pink one. Lucky John that he just teleported in the middle of it to give her an opinion! She turns to him and holds up the dresses, taking his sudden appearance in stride.]

Which one looks better, do you think?

[Sitting in a dark room somewhere, Sollux looks up as the bright light becomes the only source of illumination in the room besides his own laptop, and dear shit that hurts. After hissing for a second, he turns around, and--]

Hey.

[Tone indicating that he could be asking about the weather.]

[ John is lucky enough to interrupt Honey in his room. Alone. Kan-chan excluded, of course, because the Kangaskhan is nearby...

Wow there sure is a lot of candlelight, what's he doing?

Eating a gigantic cake all by himself, obviously.

He looks at John with mild confusion, although Honey doesn't seem particularly put out. ]

Ah, John-chan, right~? Did you come to have some cake, too? Kan-chan and I wanted some, you see...

[ Kan-chan isn't actually eating any cake, so this excuse makes no sense... ]

[John cuts off awkwardly mid-word as he appears. Wherever he just came from, he was clearly having a conversation and has left his partner utterly bewildered as to what he was going to say next.]

What the--? Aradia? [Okay, so he's actually pretty happy to get the chance to see her in person again but this still isn't quite right. Especially since... isn't she all the way in Johto?]

What, no! I don't have teleporting powers I... don't know what the hell just happened or how I got here. On that note, please tell me you guys came to Kanto and just didn't tell us.

[Please for the love of god don't let him be all the way in Johto.]

Oh and uh...thanks, I guess. [He fusses with his bowtie a little bit.] Rose and I are on a date. Though I will admit that this certainly complicates that.

[Oh good...at least this time he stayed within Saffron instead of winding up in another region entirely.]

[No seriously, who just stands on their hands for no reason? He'll answer your question in a minute, this is clearly more pressing.]

[ In order to tell him what he wants to hear, she'd have to lie through her teeth. ...Which she could do, but. ]

I'm afraid we're still in Johto! You are, in fact, just outside of Mahogany. We're having a picnic - that is, my pokemon and I.

[ There's a small pause, as she eyes him. ]

I think that you do have teleporting powers, unless you guys came over to Johto without telling us! Should I take it that this is the first time anything like this has happened to you? [ Wait, this is Johto. ] - Today, that is.

[ ...WELP. Aradia will make room on her picnic blanket for him to sit down if he wants to, for...however long he's here. ] Oh, you are? ...Maybe you'd better text her! Or I can. You may as well sit down for the moment, and see if it reverses. Otherwise I think you may have to take a raincheck, since getting from Mahogany to Johto normally takes a lot longer.

[John's holding a fork with a piece of lettuce speared on the end of it, which is currently halfway to his mouth. Yeah. That's totally appropriate for where he wound up this time. Not at all weird about a guy eating a non-existent salad in the middle of the ladies' department.]

[He forgoes taking that single bite in favor of answering Mom's question.]

Uh... that depends on what you want it for, I guess. You have two very different styles there so it's kind of hard to compare them objectively. Because I am sure that unlike myself and Dave, you can probably pull both of them off and look nice so it's not a matter of picking whichever suits you better. It's a matter of the occasion.

[John Egbert: dress expert.]

[John, on the other hand, needs a moment to adapt to the darkness. Luckily it doesn't hurt, he just can't see shit till his pupils dila-- there we go. He raises a hand and gives a weird little salute-wave-type gesture.]

[Okay this is the fourth or fifth time now, probably. He's kind of starting to get used to this, annoying though it is.]

Don't mind me, I will be gone the way I came in probably like five minutes. So how's it going?

[The thought that this is some kind of cosmic pranking karma briefly crosses John's mind as he appears in Honey's room, fork in hand, and catches sight of that massive cake,]

[Really, universe? You couldn't have waited two seconds for him to put his fork down before zapping him to cake hell? Really? Do you have any idea how bad this must look?]

Uhh... [He quickly sticks the fork behind his back, hoping that Honey didn't see it because he's pretty sure he won't be able to talk around that one. Why else would you bring a fork if you didn't want cake, John? He can already see this unfolding in his mind...]

No thanks, that's okay! I would hate to take away from you and Kan-chan after all, that would be rude.

[ John, are you a psychic?!

...Or, well, too bad for you that Honey is basically a ninja sometimes. He may seem childish, but he's quick on his feet and he catches sight of that damning silverware before you can hide it entirely. ]

Maaaaa, then why did you bring a fork? That means you want some, right?

I already had one cake tonight, so I don't mind if you have half of this one~! Ah, but I want the side with the most strawberries.

[S-sob. Understandably, John looks a little distressed at this news, even though he pretty much knew it was coming. He sinks onto the blanket, pulling his knees up to his chest before fishing his Pokégear out of his pocket.]

Yeah, good idea. [He quickly types out a message to Rose, explaining what little of this he can.] And yeah to the other thing too, this had never happened to me before. Today or otherwise! [He...somehow managed to stay in Saffron during both of the most recent fourth walls. Well, save for when he glitched out to Trickster mode last year. But John can't even remember sugar-glitching, let alone teleporting.]

One minute I'm sitting down at our table, the next minute I'm here, there was literally no explanation for it at all. Uggghhhh! [He knocks his knees with his forehead, clearly frustrated.]

H-half?! [Okay, he's made some strides with cake since coming here. First, being okay with baking them again, and then he actually ate a slice on his birthday this year. Didn't even flip his shit or make faces or anything!]

[This is an absolutely preposterous amount of cake and just the thought of that much sugar is making his teeth hurt.]

It' really fine, I promise! See, I am kind of in the middle of eating dinner right now, or trying to, at least, and I haven't finished yet so clearly I can't have dessert yet.

[ Well, at least he's in good company! Things could be worse! He could be with someone trying to get him to eat half a multi-tiered cake!

Aradia patiently waits for the message to go out - it seems pretty important, because she's pretty sure if her date disappeared suddenly in the middle of a meal she'd be a bit concerned. Probably. ]

That is a bit weird! Not that I'm complaining about having you here as company, mind, but that is a bit unfortunate timing. I am not the girl whose meal you are meant to be sharing!

...Or even in the appropriate region. I wonder what's going on. Did you at least get any food, or were you waiting?

[ WOW, RUDE. Honey doesn't seem to notice that his nightly cake picnic is in fact John's worst nightmare, and takes a bite of his own "slice" of cake, chewing thoughtfully. ]

Ah, sorry! I didn't mean for that to come out that way. I am not complaining about being with you, exactly. Like that's pretty cool and I would definitely be super stoked about this under normal circumstances. But today is Rose and I's anniversary so it's kind of a special day so-- hold on. [Gotta reply back to Rose real fast.]

...so being randomly pulled away from that against my will and thrown halfway across the country is kinda...yeah. It definitely wasn't a complaint against you though.

[He lowers his knees and puts his hands out behind him, propping himself up.] But no, we had really only just sat down. Like they hadn't even taken our drink orders yet or anything.

Vanille was in her room, with her Vanillite and Bagon. She would have more out, but her third Pokemon...

Well... uh. It wouldn't let her withdraw others. Vanille didn't know why, though! She was also kind of stuck in her room.

So, when she notices somebody, she lets out a little gasp, looking away from her... crafts project? The glitchy pile of Pokemon in front of her is covered in ribbons and beads of all colours.]

[She says, with a bit of a playful pout. Things have been odd in this room all day.]

[ Lilo (with Kumquat) is currently spying on people in Violet City, because everything is way more fun when you spy on people. When suddenly!! THIS GUY APPEARS. She is understandably miffed, because his sudden appearance totally catches the attention of the people she was spying on. And what's the point of spying on people if they're not acting natural??

She emerges from her hiding spot (a very bushy bush) and throws her arms up in the air, Kumquat at her heels. ]

What's the big idea?! [ AND THEN ] Hey, I know you!!

I'm not upset! It's completely normal to mind being somewhere else, especially on an anniversary. [ She pauses. ] Oh, and congratulations to the both of you! I didn't realize today was special.

It's nice to see you again, although admittedly the circumstances are completely weird. But that's actually sort of normal in a way, so I suppose they're not weird so much as predictable? I think weirdness is predictable at this point.

[ APPARENTLY JUST GOING TO CASUALLY CHAT AS LONG AS SHE HAS HIM HERE. ]

[John just so happened to teleport to the pokemart where Misaki was working...during her shift. She wasn't really doing much at the cashier's place, just waiting for another customer. When John happened to appear out of thin air right in front of her, Misaki honestly made no reaction. After nearly a year of being in this place, nothing's really surprising no more.]

Are you going to buy something?
