[For once, there is no smile on John's face when he turns on the video feed. Instead there is a look of tired, barely-restrained panic on his face. Also unusual are the stacks of books surrounding him. Someone went to the library. Someone found every book they could on ghosts and legends.]

[Someone stayed up all night reading all those books, and it definitely shows.]

[Barely visible on the couch behind him is a lavender-clad body laid out on the couch. The face isn't visible, but to anyone who knows her, the clothes should be recognizable as those of Rose Lalonde.]

Has... [His voice is the tiniest bit shaky. He's really trying his hardest to stay calm here.] Anyone figured anything out yet? About the people who were taken, I mean? And how to get them back? I talked to a few people about it last night but...heh, it's a different day now, right? [There's a very forced, weak laugh.] I read every book I could find...but they aren't telling me anything more than the pokédex did.

[It's a little late for "don't look in their backs."]

So...yeah. If anyone knows something, I would appreciate it.

[He gives the camera once last slightly desperate look before clicking it off.]

It's....it's those stupid bugs.

Yeah...I'm hesitant to try and fight them though. I worry that the same thing will happen to my pokémon if they aren't careful. And I don't want to lose them too.

[For once, he's actually stopping and thinking instead of acting on impulse.]

We shouldn't attack them yet. We need to wait and observe them a bit more. We might be able to find a weakness or something that way.

[She chokes a bit.] I don't want to lose anymore people.

[He nods.] That's what I was hoping to find in these books. But everything I have read is just "don't look, don't look!" And that's useless.

I don't want to either. Two of my friends were already taken. [Four, once he finds out about Aradia and Soul Eater.] And while that's not a lot, and I am sure other people have lost more that's...two too many for me. And nobody should have to go through this, anyway...

At least we will be able to do something at some point. At least they're still...sort of here. They aren't completely gone or anything. That's...a plus, I guess.

They're still alive. That's what I'm relieved about. At least the bugs didn't kill them.

Yeah...that too. That's the most important part. They can come back from this.

Yeah, that would have been nice. But I still appreciate the fact that we met. Talking to people right now is...helpful.

Y-yeah, it's.....sort of calming a way. [She turns around to look at the bed behind her, and then looks back at the camera.]

Mmhmm. [He nods.] And it's...nice to know that other people care. And that you're not alone.

[She nods, too. And checks the bed one more time.] Makes you feel a bit more comfortable about this.
